Passport holdup delaying Stacey Addison’s return

Klamath Falls, Ore. – An Oregon veterinarian is still waiting for her passport, so she can return home from East Timor – after being released from prison on Christmas.

Bernadette Kero has had two brief Skype sessions with her daughter, Stacey Addison…

“It was amazing to hear her voice – just to be able to communicate with her.”

Kero credits lawyer Paolo Remedios for getting her daughter released from jail on Christmas.

But now, the lawyer needs to file a petition for return of Addision’s passport – and Kero says that could take several days…

“Apparently now, the court is shut down until after the New Year.”

Addison spent nearly 2 months in prison after a fellow passenger in a cab, who she says she didn’t know, was found with drugs.

“And they were all arrested.” Notes Kero. “And ever since then it’s just been a mess of turmoil.”

Addison’s lawyer has cautioned her to not do any press interviews until after she’s home.

But Kero says her daughter had one message to pass along…

“She just wanted to thank everybody. It’s just amazing, all the support she’s gotten from people all over the world.”
