Phoenix hopes to become next the 'Bee City USA'

Phoenix, Ore. — The City of Phoenix is looking to become the next ‘Bee City USA.’

The city council is expected to apply for the nationwide program in tonight’s meeting.

Bee City USA towns must establish a committee, pass a beekeeping ordinance and develop and adopt a bee city resolution. There are currently only six Bee City USA’s in the country.

Talent and Ashland are currently the only cities in the state with the recognition.
