Lawsuit against Jackson County Jail alleging excessive force goes to trial

Medford, Ore. — A lawsuit filed against Jackson County alleging excessive force in the county jail in 2011 will go to trial Tuesday, April 5th.

A civil lawsuit seeking damages has been filed by John Williams. The lawsuit alleges that when Williams was brought into the Jackson County Jail on July 16th of 2011, deputies used excessive force against him resulting in injuries to his eye, head, leg and elbows.

Jackson County counsel declined comment because of the pending litigation.

The case will go before a six person jury Tuesday, April 5th.
