Police investigate attempted murder

Medford, Ore. — Few details are being released as Medford police investigate a Sunday evening attempted murder. One resident in the area says she heard what sounded like fireworks but later found the police at her doorstep.

“It was around eight o’clock and I was just sitting at the computer and I heard a loud bang. I just though it was some kids.” Kaylee Matthews who lives nearby says the shooting makes her uneasy.

Police found 32 year-old Curtis Wiles at the Highland Minute Market and arrested him without incident. As of Monday he’s in the Jackson County Jail facing Attempted murder, Assault in the first degree, among other charges. Police have not released the victims name but say the man is in stable condition at a local hospital.
