Preparing For The Snow Storm

It’s the sound of the season at Ed’s Tire Factory in Medford.

Customer, Ashley Ahle says her dad wanted her to take all precautions.

“My dad wants me to be careful with my baby.”

Floods of customers coming in trying to do what they can nowahead of a snow storm predicted for Friday.

“I have a tire low and so i came in here and he checked it and he told me that its because of the weather caused them to lose pressure,” says Donna Ford.

Tire Factory owner Ed Miller says checking your tire pressure is just one thing you should do when temperatures dip below freezing.

“Make sure you have good wipers really really important and check the air pressure that’s really important make sure you have anti-freeze or coolant in your cooling system that makes your heater work better.”

Miller says the last minute rush to winterize is bringing a 40 percent increase in business, something keeping his entire staff busy.

“Because it’s so sparatic in this area you never know if we’re going to get a winter or not and so people wait until they’re pretty sure we’re going to have one and then when they do everybody kinda wants it at once.”

Miller’s staff told Ford her tires are low because of the cold something even her Subaru couldn’t withstand.

“I don’t have to travel for work so I’m just going to stay put.”

And at black bird in Medford pipe insulators are going fast they keep your pipes from bursting during these freezing temperatures

“Make sure they’re insulated because if they freeze and burst you’re calling a plumber and paying for the fix,” says Tom Gascon.

Winter preps that could save you money and your life.
