Senior White House officials say the President always planned to make the announcement before the Democratic Convention this fall.
Meanwhile, the President is making a trip to the Northwest on Thursday, arriving in Seattle via Air-Force One by noon. He’ll be attending a number of fundraisers for his campaign.
