Program teaches teens how to shoot

Medford, Ore. — The Medford Gun Club is partnering with local 4-H groups to teach teenagers in the Rogue Valley how to shoot.

Over the course of a couple months the group learns both American Trap and Skeet shooting. Organizers said it not only teaches participants how to shoot safely, but it also helps build determination and character.

“Maybe they inherited dad’s or grandpa’s gun, and they want a safe place to come out. We offer some pretty intense and excellent instruction and make sure they do everything safely,” 4-H leader Duane Sanders said.

This is the 12th year for the program. Kids as young as 10-years-old have participated.
