Medford, Ore. – Students returned to class on the RCC/SOU campus in downtown Medford on Monday, bringing extra foot traffic to the area. Local businesses owners say they’ve also seen an increase in sales.
“The majority of our customers are RCC and SOU students,” Jed Evers said. “They really enhance our business because students need a lot of caffeine.”
On Monday, students could be found in coffee shops, restaurants, and bars in the area.
A Welcome Back Bash is being held at the Higher Education Center from 4 – 6 PM on Tuesday. The event is free for students, faculty, and staff, and will include food, live music, and door prizes.
