Road clearing in Applegate after storm

TREECUTTUNG

Applegate, Ore. — Roaring chainsaws halting traffic to one lane in Applegate, clearing the highway from debris left behind by the recent storm.

Contracted crews from Pacific Ridge Forestry were out clearing part of highway 238 near Applegate Elementary on Friday.

They’re cutting back trees and bushed that crept onto the highway after being weighed down by snow from the storm. It’s a much needed cleanup as the debris could pose a hazard to drivers.

Crews are expected to be working in the area until Tuesday.
