Seattle Zoo Looking For Young Boy Who Saved A Penguin's Life

John Samaris knows his penguins. After all he is the lead zookeeper at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo.

Penguins are super curious and these Humboldt Penguins– native to the warm climate of South America are super endangered.

So that is why the zoo’s breeding program is so important – and such a success.

Butone newly hatched penguin chick almost didn’t make it into this world.

Iit was April 3, when a pair of penguins – nudged their little one out of the burrow to hatch.

What zoo keepers didn’t see – was there was a second egg in a precarious position.

The penguins didn’t see it, zookeepers didn’t either but someone did.A young boy spotted the egg and alerted zoo staff.

But in the rush to rescue to egg, no one got the boy’s name. He’s not on video either

All we know is the little hero was visiting on the April 3, he was 7 or 8 with blonde curly hair – a white t-shirt and was extremely polite.

Zookeeprs are hoping hisparents will recognize the story and contact zoo offircals.
