Several Medford residents searching for jobs as call center announces closure

FTD PICMedford, Ore. — FTD confirmed Monday that they are closing their Medford call center and laying off their employees in the Rogue Valley.

One laid-off worker, who didn’t want to jeopardize her severance by talking to the media, on camera tells NBC5 News that approximately 50 people work at this call center. She said they had no idea the layoffs were about to happen.

The company said in an emailed statement to NBC5 News that the call center’s closing comes as a result of their acquisition of Provide Commerce, the company behind ‘ProFlowers’.

Call centers in California and Illinois will now pick up the calls the Medford office handled.

NBC5 News will have more updates on this story tonight at 5 & 6.
