Yreka, Calif. — Hundreds of people donned their running shoes, to help do their part in finding a cure for cancer on Saturday night.
The Siskiyou county Relay for Life is happening right now at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds. Nearly 200 people registered for the fundraiser, including 18 different teams.
Through pledges, raffles, and food and items sold, the group is hoping to raise over $56,000 in just a 22-hour time frame. They’re already over $50,000. The Luminaria Ceremony to honor those who have battled cancer will be taking place at 9:30 PM, everyone is invited to attend.
All the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society.
