Siskiyou county woman pleads guilty to felony animal abuse

Yreka, Calif. –Today a woman was sentenced for mistreating her horses. Tonight she’s in jail.

The Siskiyou County District Attorney says 67-year-old Eleanor Saenz pleaded guilty to felony charges of animal abuse in January.

Saenz was sentenced today to 3 years of felony probation and ordered to serve 120 days in the Siskiyou County Jail.

In 2013, a neighbor noticed several of Saenz’s stallions were malnourished.

Neighbors and the group humanity for horses have banded together to take care of the horses. The local animal cruelty prevention task force also helped.
