Due to funding restrictions, roads not to code and gravel roadways will no longer by paved or maintained by Jackson county.
The decision was made by county commissioners yesterday.
Officials say timber payments used to fund the paving projectsbut the county payments aren’t what they used to be.
The county will continue to maintain the roadways if they’re up to current construction standards.
