Southern Oregon Humane Society in need of blankets during winter season

640x360_10823P00-FZONEMedford, Ore. — It’s been chilly outside not only for humans but also for animals.

The Southern Oregon Humane Society is looking for more blankets for sheltered animals.

Executive Director Kenn Altine says November and December saw a record number of adoptions, meaning the society’s supplies are depleted. Blankets are usually washed and re-used but are thrown away if an animal is sick or chews on the blanket beyond repair.

Altine says quilts, anything with padding, electric, and satin blankets won’t be accepted. If you can donate, the shelter is open every day from 11am to 5pm or you can visit their website sohumane.org.
