Stepfather of Ashley Long to appear on ‘Today’

The stepfather of the 14-year-old Eagle Point girl who died after police say she inhaled helium and drank alcohol will appear on NBC’s ‘Today Show’ Wednesday.

Long’s stepfather Justin Earp is scheduled to appear on ‘Today’ February 29th, 2012. A producer at ‘Today’ told NBC 5 News the segment will focus on Ashley’s death after she collapsed and died immediately after taking in gas from a helium tank at a teen party in Medford February 18th.

Police say Long had also consumed alcohol at the party. It is still unclear whether helium played the only factor in her death.
