Subway announces endorsement deal with Marcus Mariota

(KGW) — On Wednesday Subway announced an endorsement deal with former Oregon Ducks star quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota – and celebrated by making a huge sandwich bust in his likeness.

Fans still don’t know what uniform Mariota will be wearing after he’s drafted into the NFL on Thursday. But for now, his shirt is made of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers and his shoulder pads are soft as ever – layered with loaves of bread. Mmmm… and not to mention the lovely fresh bread smell that Subway is known for. (Now when do you ever hear people complimenting the fresh odor of a football player)

Subway officials said the young star was a perfect fit as their new spokesman. He apparently already had quite a bit of knowledge about the menu from his days as a hungry and hard-working Duck in Eugene and even before that, at prep school in Hawaii.
