Suspects sought in Klamath Falls drive-by shooting

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Klamath Falls police are continuing to look for a suspect in connection with a weekend drive-by shooting. The shooting happened at about 10:30 Saturday night at a home near Angle and Soquel Streets.

The owner of the home said, “They stopped in front of our house, turned their lights off, and all of a sudden they started shooting.”

Police say the house was targeted because a person in involved in law enforcement lives there. Detective Brandon Dougherty of the Klamath Falls Police Department said they’re not actually police officers, but they are part of the law enforcement community.

“It sounds like it was a planned event, and it wasn’t something that just randomly happened,” added the home owner.

Officers say the suspect, or suspects took multiple shots at vehicles in the driveway, and one shot through a wall almost hit a resident.

The home owner said, “The one that came to me was about 18 inches. When it came through, hit the wall next to me.”

Detective Dougherty says the suspects fired about 10 rounds, adding, “We’re not sure if it was multiple firearms, or just one – but we did retrieve some evidence from the scene.” Police say they’re following up on several leads, and are still asking for help from the public.
