According to court documents 48-year-old Tirsa Fong Villanueva, a former tax preparer for Medford’s Liberty Tax Services faces charges of first degree theft, identity theft, computer crime, and filing false tax returns that date back to 2009.
The owner of Liberty Tax Services told us Villanueva is no longer employed with the company.
“I feel really good about our stores, about our employees. We do everything we can to safe guard our material. We’re also very careful about who is around or in our office all the time” said Annette Holman, owner of Liberty Tax Service in Medford.
Liberty Tax Services also told us Villanueva had previously worked for H&R Block and also occasionally worked out of her home.
She is scheduled to appear in court next month.
