Tired brain may boost creativity

Believe it or not, a tired brain may be the most creative.

If you are feeling tired right now, you might want to tackle the redesign of your kitchen or paint a picture because according to a study from Albion University, being tired may actually help you solve problems that require insight. The theory is that when you’re sleepy, you actually have less control of your thoughts and that free thinking can often lead to creative outcomes.

Of course, being tired doesn’t necessarily lead to productivity, so researchers suggest you apply this technique responsibly.

They suggest actually holding off on creative tasks for first thing in the morning, or midafternoon, when your brain is the sleepiest.
