Toddler shoots parents

Albuquerue, N.M. — (KOB) Two New Mexico parents are recovering after being shot by their 3-year-old son inside a motel room in northeast Albuquerque Saturday afternoon.

According to Albuquerque police, officers were dispatched to America’s Best Value Inn around 2 p.m.

Their initial investigation leads them to believe it was an accident, but they are waiting to do a safe house interview with the boy and the woman’s 2-year-old daughter before deciding if anyone should be charged.

Justin Reynolds says he and his pregnant girlfriend Monique Villescas were getting ready to order pizza when the incident occurred.

“It was like if I was to get up shake your hand and sat back down. That’s how fast it happened, “said Reynolds.” All of a sudden we heard a gun go off and the next minute I realized my girlfriend was bleeding. Then I sat down and realized I was shot too.”
