The skyrocketing cost of a gallon of gas, up ten percent in the last month, has some people looking for change.

R.C.C. student Brie Wilson lives in White City and commutes to Ashland for work.
“It’s a big expense for most of us I’m sure.”
While Wilson rides the bus often, saving her hundreds a month… last summer she signed up for a new statewide program called Drive Less Connect.
It’s a new easy-to-use online ride-matching tool that matches you with people going your way for work and play.
“We can share the cost of your travel to work.”
More than 5,000 people participate statewide, but Southern Oregon participation is only in the hundreds… something both Wilson and the Rogue Valley Transportation District is hoping to change.
“Maybe checking daily to see who’s signing up, getting the word out like this.”
While Drive Less Connect allows you to search for the right car pool pal, and gives you tons of options on how you want to commute… RVTD has good news for people looking to save.
“Last fall the Board of Directors decided to reduce the cost of a monthly pass.”
Prices on the monthly bus pass and punch card were reduced by 20% at the beginning of February… this as they expand service into the evening and on Saturdays beginning April 2nd… giving you that many more opportunities to save your hard earned money.
