Native Americans likely wont be among the first wave of people checking out Cover Oregon.
Officials with the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians tell the World newspaper that they taking a watch-and-wait approach when it comes to the Affordable Care Act.
Currently, Native Americans can visit tribal clinics for free. But they also could opt for special enrollment under the new health care law.
Tribe officials say they want to hear more from members before making a decision.
Meanwhile, Cover Oregon officials are pointing to the health care exchanges as helpful supplements to limited tribal health care budgets.
