It happened around 4:45 this afternoon.

This is footage just into our newsroom.

At this point traffic is being diverted, but it was blocked on Southbound lanes of North Pacific Highway as well as Westbound traffic on Scenic in Central Point.

Officials aren’t saying much at this point.

But if you’re headed to that area, expect delays.

A car crash claims a life on Highway 140 and tonight a Lakeview area woman is dead.

Oregon State Police say 79-year-old Alice Hancock, driving a Volkswagen Bug, was stopped at a stop sign on Padgett Road when she turned onto Highway 140 West.

According to police, it was then that 59-year-old Larry Holloway, the driver of a westbound Dodge Intrepid, slammed into Hancock’s vehicle.

Hancock was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Holloway and his wife had minor injuries.

Officers are continuing their investigation.
