Portland, Ore.– Umpqua Bank is now the largest community bank on the west coast, since the merger with Sterling Bankis complete.
The deal was made official Friday and the company nearly doubled the size.
There are now 400 community bank branches stretching across five states.
The company admits that some branches will close and some jobs will be lost for efficiencies.
But that is yet to be determined.
