We have an update on 18-month-old Cayden who Medford police say was beaten and penetrated by his stepfather Matthew Hyrup.
NBC-5 spoke with Kevin Brewer, the child’s biological father.
He says little Cayden has been released from Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Cayden is now in the custody of human services, and in foster care.
Brewer says he’s fighting for custody.
The child’s stepfather, Matthew Hyrup is behind bars in the Jackson County Jail.
Hyrup’s trial starts April 17th.
