Update: Three suspects arrested and Klamath County Deputy identified

Update (2:00p.m. 8/28) Christopher Holmgren has been identified as the third person in the vehicle involved in the Klamath Falls Sheriff Deputy shooting on Wednesday.

Holmgren has been arrested for probation violation for associating with known felons. Officials have confirmed that Holmgren has not been charged with anything related to the shooting and is cooperating with authorities.

Update (9:50 a.m. 8/28)The Klamath Falls Sheriff Deputy that was shot yesterday has been identified as 40 year old Jason Weber.

The Major Crime team located the vehicle between North Klamath and Rocky Point.

Update (8:40 a.m. 8/28) — The Crime Team also arrested Karey Leigh Pascoe in connection with the shooting and is charged with conspiracy to commit Attempted Aggravated Murder with a Firearm, Aggravated Murder, and Assault in the First Degree with a Firearm.

Deputy Jason Weber was named as the victim of the shooting. Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah said that Deputy Weber has been a Deputy Sheriff for seven years. He is with his family as Oregon Health Sciences University and is in serious but stable condition.

The Crime team us still trying to locate the vehicle associated with the shooting.

Update (7:50 a.m. 8/28) — The Klamath County Major Crime Unit announced Thursday morning that they’ve arrested William Parkerson on charges of Attempted Aggravated Murder with a Firearm and Assault in the First Degree with a Firearm.

They are still trying to located the vehicle associated with the shooting.

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Police say the deputy pulled over the suspect just before noon on Bisbee Street…That’s when the suspect fired twice – hitting the deputy in the face and in the side.

The deputy is being treated at OHSU in Portland.

Police have identified a suspect in connection with the shooting, and a possible suspect vehicle.

Klamath County Sheriff Frank Skrah: “It’s a sad day for the city of Klamath Falls, one of our fine men in uniform was shot.”

The shooting happened in a quiet residential neighborhood.

“It was probably around 11:47.” Noted neighbor Danita Jones. “We heard a couple gunshots, and kind of freaked me out – and I didn’t want to go out walking around.”

The name of the wounded deputy hasn’t been released.

Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge says the shooting happened during a routine traffic stop…

“The deputy is in stable condition. He was shot in the face, and the side.”

Sheriff Skrah says police are looking for 30 year old suspect William Parkerson…

“5’11, 180, buzz cut haircut, numerous prison tattoos all over him.”

Parkerson is believed to be driving a black 1989 Jeep Cherokee, with an Oregon license plate of ZFQ-270.

“We’re putting all efforts forward.” Says D.A. Patridge. “We would urge the public not to approach this vehicle if it’s found – the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.”

Initially listed in ‘critical’ condition, the deputy has since been upgraded to ‘serious’ condition.

“He did not even have a chance to draw his weapon.” Notes Sheriff Frank Skrah. “Because his weapon was in his holster.”

The manhunt is continuing.
