Veteran to be fitted for customized bike

MEDFORD, ORE. — A US Air Force veteran from Tennessee is in Southern Oregon for a one of a kind gift.

Staff Sergeant Shaun Meadows was welcomed at the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport Friday afternoon.

While in Afghanistan in 2008, Meadows convoy struck a roadside bomb,the explosion forced surgeons to amputate both of his legs below the knees.

He has prosthetic titanium legs, but he still has his share of struggles.

To help give him some of his freedom back,’Thunderstuck Custom Bikes’ in Medford and Eagle Point based ‘Combat Hero Bike Build’will create a customized motorcycle just for him.

Meadows was given a police escort from the airport to Thunderstruck’s shop, where he’s being fitted for his bike.

It’ll take about 9 months to build.

Staff Sergeant Meadows will be at ‘Thunderstrucks’ Bike and Street show this weekend.

It’s happening Saturday at Habenero’s on Front Street in downtown Medford.
