Viewers Chime In On Weather

The world of social media spinning fast as this wet winter storm slams the west.

So, we put a call out on our Facebook page for viewers to send us photos of this wild weather, and the responses came pouring in. From Bandon to Corvallis, the pictures are coming into our newsroom fast and furious.

In northwest Corvallis, Oregon State student Jarrod Connelly is watching the Jackson-Frazier wetlands rise… destroying cars… and as the Benton County Sheriff’s Department moves in, some neighbors are breaking out their canoe.

‘They brought out there canoe, and went down to 7-11 and bought water to hand out, no one wants to drink the water.’

Closer to the coast, Brian Huck sends in these dramatic photos… here Riley Creek is flooding and threatening several homes…. also in Gold Beach, these beach homes in the Rogue River Estates are beginning to flood.

The damage of course not limited to Southern Oregon… in central Oregon this tanker truck was hit by a snow slide on Highway-20 near Santiam Pass… no injuries were reported.

Watching the whole mess play out…….

Look at this picture of a herd of elk on Highway-42 courtesy of NBC-5’S own Sam Powell.

While we haven’t heard any news on the herds condition, but we can tell you elk swim very well.
