Watson Creek Fire prompts Level 3 evacuation notices in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Ore. – Level 3 (go) evacuation notices are in effect for people living closest to the Watson Creek Fire.

The evacuations from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office affect more than a dozen homes in the Lakeview Estates Neighborhood. LCSO issued the following message on August 19:

Level 3 Evacuations for Lakeview Estates, located just north of Campbell and Deadhorse Lakes in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. . Evacuations at this time are nearly complete! The fire is currently burning 1-2 miles north of the area. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office appreciates everyone’s cooperation for an orderly evacuation, and for staying out of the fire area for emergency personnel safety.

The Watson Creek Fire started last Wednesday, about 13 miles west of Paisley.

Since then, it’s burned more than 25,000 acres in the Fremont-Winema National Forest.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
