Ways and Means Committee Hosts Town Hall Meeting

Southern Oregon residents spoke up today about their concerns, and the state’s joint Ways and Means Committee was in Ashland today listening to them.

The committee primarily focuses on budgetary issues and is co-chaired by Representative Peter Buckley and Senator Richard Devlin.

Students from Southern Oregon University testified about their financial concerns while trying to further their education.

Jazmin Roque, who attended the meeting said, “Ithink that’s what we are doing here today, it’s here’s what it’s like to be a student in Oregon today, this is what your budget means for us and this is what we need in order to invest in secondary education.”

Ashland is the second of six stops the committee will be stopping to hear testimony.
