Whale watching at the coast, #whaling in the office

This week, Oregon parks officials announced that we’re coming up on the prime viewing season for the annual gray whale spring migration.

The Oregon coast will likely be flooded with people trying to catch a glimpse of the huge mammals. Officials say in previous years, 160 or so gray whales migrate during the Spring Whale Watch Week from March 22 to 29.

Not everyone will be able to get to the coast, let alone get a hotel room as the crowds come in, but if you ride the wave of a new social media trend, #whaling, you don’t have to leave your desk.

Maybe we can get the KOBI newsroom to do one. Have you been #whaling watching
