With summer just around the corner, now is a good time for kids to get outdoors and exercise.
That’s exactly what hundreds of children did in Ashland Saturday at the YMCA’s “Healthy Kids Day.”
The annual event invites families to come together to learn about active and healthy lifestyles and also preview some of the summer camps the “Y” has to offer.
“Pretty much everything you see, there’s swim lessons, there’s youth sports, specialty camps that take him to go paint balling and fishing. and we have full day camps here at the Y,” said Mario Gallegos.
Local police and fire crews also attendedthe event, allowing kids to turn on their lights and get a tour the vehicles.
Mercy flights even landed a helicopter in the parking lot.
