Medford homicide investigation continues

IMG_1743Medford, Ore. — Police have yet to charge anyone in the murder of a 34-year-old Medford man over the weekend, but police are confident the shooter is behind bars.

Luke Barmes was shot and killed in the backyard of his home on Iowa Street Saturday evening. Police say the suspected shooter was tracked down Sunday morning and booked on an outstanding warrant. Police say they have several investigators working on the case full time.

“These are the most serious cases that we work,” Deputy Chief Brett Johnson says, “and we’d much rather complete these investigations well than complete them fast.”

No one has been charged in the case yet, however, police say they expect new information to be released at some point this week.
