New Deputy Chief named at MPD

scott clausonMedford, Ore. — Medford police have a new Deputy Chief as the department celebrates their latest batch of promotions.

Scott Clauson was promoted to Deputy Chief at the end of April. Clauson has been with the department for almost 21 years, he tells NBC5 News the promotion is an exciting opportunity.

“We have a change of leadership from the Chief down,” Deputy Chief Scott Clauson says, “so lots of promotional opportunities and I’m really excited for the future of our department.”

In addition to the promotion of Deputy Chief, MPD also promoted Kerry Curtis to Lieutenant, and Steve Furst to Sergeant.
