Medford, Ore. – Medford is the proud recipient of a new playground, thanks to a competition from Moda and the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the contest to win the new playground, Medford received nearly 3,600 votes, almost 1,300 more than Portland. The victory means that Fichtner-Mainwaring Park along Stewart Avenue will receive a $5 donation for each assist the trail blazers rack up through the season.
Right now, the donation would come in at more than $15,500. The full donation amount will be announced and presented during the Portland-Oklahoma City Thunder game on April 6th.
Planning and installation of an all-abilities play structure will be coordinated by Medford Parks and Recreation.
