Murder suspect sent to Oregon State Hospital for mental health evaluation

Medford, Ore.- A Central Point man accused of shooting and killing man outside a convenience store will be sent back to the Oregon State Hospital for another mental health evaluation.

Robert Davies-Calhoun appeared in court Thursday. Davies-Calhoun’s case has repeatedly been delayed as he’s fired three attorneys and set out to defend himself.

Police say Davies-Calhoun shot Douglas Mitchell Spaur, 53, outside the Stop N’ Go on Table Rock Road in November, 2015.

The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office says it’s likely Davies-Calhoun’s trial, which was scheduled to begin in April, will be delayed.
