Orlando gunman’s father says club shares blame

NC_dadpresser0615_1500x845Orlando, Fla. (NBC News) — The father of Orlando gunman Omar Mateen said Wednesday that ISIS and inadequate security are to blame for the massacre his son carried out inside Orlando’s Pulse nightclub.

Siddique Mateen said he had no idea his son was plotting any sort of attack, and railed against international terrorist groups before also casting some blame on the nightclub.

“When anyone opens up a business, I’m not aware of the situation of this club, they should have enough security for when 3 or 400 people comes to the business. They should have a good security. The life of 400 people depends on that business. So it’s easy for them to make money, but they don’t want to spend. Maybe they had some kind of sloppy security,” Mateen said.
“If anyone wants to open a social club they should have a tight security 24 hour on guard security. If they had a good security, tight security, they would have eliminated the – my son- that’s would have been good, we wouldn’t have this nightmare and this, these losses for the families.”
