Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle near Phoenix

phoenix-pedJackson County, Ore. – Oregon State Police said on October 27th, emergency responders were called to the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 99 north of Phoenix.

Troopers said an investigation showed a Ford Ranger driven by Medford resident Henry Englehardt was traveling southbound when 55-year-old Kevin Woolridge from Phoenix walked in front of the vehicle and was hit.

OSP said Woolridge was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries on the morning of October 29th.

According to OSP, the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. They add the area of the incident did not have a crosswalk and was not well lit.
