Popular restaurants graded on use of antibiotics in meat & poultry

9.16 fast food antibioticsSome top U.S. restaurant chains are under fire after being graded on their use of antibiotics in meat and poultry products.

A total of 25 restaurant chains were graded. Surprisingly, only two of the 25 got A’s for serving much of their meat from animals without regularly using antibiotics. Those top grades went to Chipotle and Panera Bread.

The report says most top chains don’t have a policy limiting antibiotic use.

Among the restaurants, Chick-fil-a, who received a B in the report. Other establishments got failing grades including some popular names that could surprise you, they include Starbucks, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Domino’s, and Taco Bell.

Critics say the use of antibiotics in animals leads to bacteria becoming resistant to medicine.
