Red Cross helps Oregonians prepare for major earthquake

Medford, Ore. — The Red Cross is helping Oregonians to prepare in the event a massive earthquake happens.

The Red Cross Prepare Out Loud event at the Smullin Center showed residents what they can expect during a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake and simple steps they can take now to prepare.

“So we’re planning for something that we’ve not had happen in our lifetime, so it’s a little bit scary. But the best thing you can do right now is start your preparedness actions,” explained Monique Dugaw with the Red Cross.

The red cross recommends you have at least a three-day supply of water and are stocked on non-perishable food items.
