Thousands of cases of popular Dove chocolates are being recalled because they may cause an allergic reaction.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports that the affected product is 24 oz. bags of Dove Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes.
The manufacturer says the chocolates may contain peanuts, wheat and egg ingredients. Mars Chocolates issued the recall after a consumer found a Snickers piece in one bag. The recalled bags may also contain pieces of Milky Way and Twix.
The recalled chocolates were sold at only one major retailer. The FDA does not say which one, but an online search shows the bags were sold at Wal-Mart. The bags were shipped to more than 30 states, including Oregon, California, and Washington.
