Klamath Union High School renovation reveals antique rowing machine

rowing imageKlamath Falls, Ore. – Crews renovating Klamath Union High School recently found something unusual when working above the gym.

Klamath Falls City Schools Maintenance Director Wayne Huggins says contractors were inspecting a roof area above Pelican Court when then found an old rowing machine stored up in the rafters…

“It’s dated back to somewhere between 1908 and 1940.  We ended up pulling it down, and it was in pretty good shape – cleaned it up a little bit.   Amazing what you find in an old building.”

The rowing machine has since been oiled up, and fitted with new oar handles.

The find was reported to the school superintendent, no decisions have yet been exercised.
