‘Klamath Works’ social service campus

Klamath Falls, Ore. – People needing social services in Klamath Falls will soon be able to get help from a variety of agencies at one location.

The campus will be located at the south end of the Sixth Street overpass.

‘Klamath Works’ will offer programs for jobs, food, shelter, clothing, health, and also provide a new home for the Klamath Falls Gospel Mission.

“We needed to have a piece of property where you would provide services for all of the individuals to be able to come to one place.”  Notes Gospel Mission Director Kent Berry.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 12:15 on Friday, August 19th to mark the start of construction.

Organizers hope the campus will also help families to build new foundations.

“My goal is for families to get out of poverty, and do self-sufficiency.”  States Jeremy Player of the Oregon Department of Human Services.  “That’s one thing, all of us working together to help lift that family.”

Construction on the project will begin in about two weeks, with completion of some projects early next year.

Congressman Greg Walden is scheduled to be on hand for Friday’s groundbreaking ceremony.
