Orange County escaped inmates caught

California Escaped Inmates CaughtLos Angeles, Calif. – Police announced today the last two escaped Orange County inmates are back in custody after more than a week on the run.

Authorities say 37-year-old Hossein Nayeri and 20-year-old Jonathan Tieu were captured this morning after being found in a stolen van.

A woman alerted police when she saw a matching description of the vehicle reported stolen by the fugitives.

When officers approached the vehicle, one inmate ran and was chased down by police. The other was found hiding inside the van.

Sheriff Sandra Hutchens says officials have already tightened security at the jail, with more changes to come after an investigation.

A third inmate who escaped with the pair surrendered Friday.
