Ore. — Scammers may be taking advantage of the financially troubled insurance company Moda. That warning is from the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services.
The DCBS says customers are receiving calls from people asking for social security numbers and other personal information, threatening to cut off coverage if they don’t act immediately.
Any communications about Moda and health plans will come directly from Moda or the state. If you think you’ve been a victim of the scam, you can visit oregonconsumer.gov.
