Shop with a cop

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Cops in Klamath Falls responded to Walmart Saturday night to help brighten Christmas for 50 kids and their families.

Alissa Lousignant has a big Christmas shopping list to fill…

“My sister and my mom, and my brother, and dad, and my other sister.”

Officer Kiley Bergstrom of the Klamath Falls Police Department notes that cops are doing what they can to help…

“We’re doing ‘Shop with a cop’.   It’s an annual event we put on.”

“I’m going to get my mom a waffle maker and a necklace.”  Adds Alissa.

The kids are selected through schools, and DHS.

“And my baby sister a bracelet, and a puppy thing.”  Notes Alissa Lousignant.

Cops in Klamath Falls raised over $8,000 to help the kids get their families Christmas gifts – and something for themselves.

Lousignant knows what she wants:  “Clothes, shoes, and a umbrella.  And a bracelet.”

To help out, Walmart donated $1,500 to the cause – and a turkey for each kid’s family.

“Walmart is a huge help to us.”  Notes Klamath Falls Police Chief David Henslee.  “We couldn’t do without the assistance of Walmart.”

‘Shop with a cop’ has now been held in Klamath Falls for over 5 years.

Oh, and Alissa wants one more thing:  “And a bracelet maker.”

Following the shopping spree, the cops and kids returned to the Klamath Falls Police Station for a Christmas party.
