Woodburn, Ore. — A 6-year-old boy reported missing in Woodburn Tuesday morning has been found safe.

He was found outside his own home, hiding near a wood pile, authorities said, but police don’t know if that’s where he was the whole time.

Favian Lopez walked to school with his mom and then ran away from her when they reached the parking lot of Nellie Muir Elementary School in Woodburn, according to Jason Horton, a spokesman for the City of Woodburn.

His mom called police after she tried unsuccessfully to find him. She said he ran away because he didn’t want to go to class, Horton said.

Favian was missing for more than two hours, until he was spotted by someone walking past his home.
