Ashland, Ore. – Interstate 5 was temporarily closed Wednesday due to a rockslide between Ashland and the Siskiyou Pass summit.
According to ODOT, crews held traffic at milepost 1 northbound and at milepost 14 southbound after the slide occurred. The slide pushed boulders against the barrier between a cliff face and the highway near milepost 10. A few large rocks tumbled over onto the roadway.
ODOT said as of 1:35 p.m., the hazard had been cleared and all northbound and southbound lanes were re-opened. There are no chain requirements, but you must carry chains in your vehicle while traveling over the pass.
