Semi-truck hauling bananas catches fire on I-5

Update (07/13 5:13 p.m.) —  ODOT said one northbound lane was reopened just around 5:00 p.m.


Jackson County, Ore — Multiple emergency response units responded to the scene of semi-truck hauling bananas fully engulfed in flames near I-5 milepost 10, south of Ashland Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, both northbound lanes are currently blocked by emergency crews. The southbound lanes remain open.

As of 3:55 p.m., ODOT said the delay would be two hours or greater.
